For nearly half a century, scientists, specifically those involved in the study of climate, have raised the alarm regarding the destruction of the environment leading to climate change. That alarm was warning of catastrophic consequences for the world as we know it. Today, all forecasts have been surpassed by an even worse reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

With its endless irrational patterns of production and consumption, the present capitalist mode of exploitation and destruction of nature is leading us to an unprecedented and eventually irreversible crisis. A sixth mass extinction of species and an imminent social collapse is underway. Faced with this, the bourgeoisie and its politicians have done nothing more than seek one last influx of profit, even if this compounds the catastrophe. Every day that passes without confronting the capitalists and taking charge of the problems, raises its costs and existential danger exponentially. The changes we need to make are not going to come on the heels of a Green New Deal or liberal collaborationism. Those \u201csolutions\u201d just maintain the bourgeoisie\u2019s existence and only help to empower the oligarchies. These necessary changes must come through the revolutionary political strategies of awareness, struggle and organization. The working class must seize control from the bloody hands of the ruling class if we wish to survive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the International Left, consisting of the Left Party (USA), Organizaci\u00f3n de Izquierda Revolucionaria (Argentina) and Socialism or Extinction Mexico, we call on scientists to break with the bourgeoisie. They must denounce the betrayals and manipulations made to science.  They must also castigate the scientists who collaborate with extinctionists and allow this downward spiral to continue unmitigated. Scientists must join the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We extend the invitation to you to participate, subscribe or join the efforts that we are making in the construction of this international movement, specifically we invite you to our monthly meetings and to our manifesto presentation conference calling for a Marxist revolution. This anti-extinctionist international conference will take place online and in person, at the facilities of the Sindicato Independiente de Trabajadores de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Metropolitana (SITUAM) in Mexico City, located in Calz. de Tlalpan number 1036, Colonia Nativitas, Mexico City, on October 28 and 29 of this year 2022 from 10am to 3pm, the agenda, as well as the registration link are attached to this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
